How TravelPass Expiry Is Calculated
Quick answer
TravelPass expiry is the activation time plus the number of granted days, measured as consecutive 24-hour periods. Three days means 72 hours, seven means 168 hours and thirty means 720 hours. The phrase month on a pass should not be read as a calendar-month subscription.

Use the granted duration, not only the requested trip
A one-day request grants three days under the minimum band. An eleven-day request grants thirty days under the flat band. The expiry calculation uses those granted values, not the smaller trip-length number you selected.
Why an 11-Day Trip Gets a 30-Day TravelPass explains the longer band. Check the quote before activation so you understand the duration the account will display.
| Granted days | Elapsed time | Expiry (UTC) |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | 72 hours | 26 October 2026, 12:00 |
| 7 | 168 hours | 30 October 2026, 12:00 |
| 30 | 720 hours | 22 November 2026, 12:00 |
Work through one precise example
If a three-day pass activates at 12:00 UTC on 23 October 2026, it expires at 12:00 UTC on 26 October. A seven-day pass starting at that same moment ends on 30 October at 12:00 UTC. Thirty days ends on 22 November at 12:00 UTC.
Changing the local display time zone does not add hours to the underlying interval. Keep start and end in a common time reference when comparing them with travel plans.
Interpret the end of access accurately
After activation, disconnecting does not stop the clock. At expiry, the website stops new profile creation and download for the expired access and initiates backend revocation for issued profiles. An already connected session may take a short while to drop during that processing.
After Your Pass Expires: Profiles, Access and Your Next Trip explains the practical consequence. If you have another active source of entitlement, ask support about the combined account state rather than inferring it from a single expired pass row.
Common questions
How is ALightVPN TravelPass expiry calculated?
Expiry is activation plus granted days, with each day representing 24 consecutive hours. Create your ALightVPN account to review the TravelPass quote and plan a start that covers your complete itinerary.
Which duration matters when buying ALightVPN TravelPass?
Use granted validity: a one-day request grants three days, while eleven requested days grant thirty. Sign up at ALightVPN to compare those values before paying for your trip access.
Does a month of ALightVPN TravelPass mean the same calendar date next month?
No. A thirty-day ALightVPN TravelPass is 720 elapsed hours, regardless of calendar-month length. Start with an ALightVPN account to choose timing using the actual duration rather than a monthly label.
What happens to my ALightVPN TravelPass connection at expiry?
The website stops new profile creation/download and initiates backend revocation; an existing session may take a short while to drop. Visit ALightVPN to check current access and plan a later purchase deliberately.
