TravelPass Help: Purchase, Start, Use and Expiry

Quick answer

TravelPass has four separate steps: choose the quote, complete payment, start the pass according to your saved choice and use access until expiry. The signed-in TravelPass page shows your purchase state. A checkout return page alone is not proof of confirmed payment or an active pass.

Buying and starting are different steps

A quote shows the requested duration, price and granted validity. Payment confirmation establishes the paid purchase; the selected start mode determines when the pass begins. Manual activation needs your action after the purchase is paid.

How to Start a TravelPass Manually When Your Trip Begins explains that manual step, and Start Now or Start Later? Choosing a TravelPass Start Mode compares the modes. Understanding this sequence prevents the mistaken conclusion that every purchase should immediately create an active connection.

Read dates in the same time reference

Scheduled starts use UTC and must be in the future within the allowed 30-day checkout window. A pass's granted duration is a separate limit: a schedule can be within that window and still grant three, seven or thirty days according to the quote.

Scheduling a TravelPass: UTC, Time Zones and the 30-Day Window covers the scheduling calculation and How TravelPass Expiry Is Calculated covers expiry. Once started, the pass runs continuously, not only while the VPN is connected.

Resolve status before trying another purchase

A pending checkout, payment in processing, paid unstarted pass or active pass may block a new purchase. Read the status shown instead of repeatedly opening new checkouts. The interface can offer Resume checkout, recovery or Start my pass depending on the saved state.

Can You Buy Another TravelPass While One Is Active? explains the blocking lifecycle. How to Find Your TravelPass Status and Purchase Reference helps you find the purchase reference and report a problem without including payment secrets.

Prepare the end as carefully as the start

At expiry, new profile creation and download stop for the expired access, and backend revocation handles issued profiles. An existing session may not drop at the exact same instant as the displayed expiry because processing takes time.

After Your Pass Expires: Profiles, Access and Your Next Trip explains the next trip. If access appears missing despite a successful payment, use Payment Confirmed but No VPN Access? TravelPass Checks and check activation before changing the client. For the broader buying decision, return to The TravelPass Guide: VPN Access for Short Trips.
