The TravelPass Guide: VPN Access for Short Trips

Quick answer

ALightVPN TravelPass is prepaid VPN access for a defined period, paid once without automatic renewal. Choose a requested trip length from 1 to 30 days, review the granted validity and select manual, immediate or scheduled activation. Once started, access runs for consecutive 24-hour days.

Understand what the quote grants

TravelPass has three pricing bands. A request for 1–3 days costs $1.49 and grants three days. Requests for 4–10 days cost $0.49 per requested day and grant that number of days. Requests for 11–30 days cost $4.99 and grant 30 days. All prices are USD.

TravelPass Pricing Explained: $1.49, Daily Pricing and the 30-Day Pass explains the calculations with examples. The number you request describes your trip; the granted validity tells you how long the activated pass runs.

Choose the start before you pay

Manual activation lets you pay first and press Start my pass later. Immediate activation begins after payment confirmation. Scheduled activation uses a chosen future UTC time within the allowed 30-day booking window.

Start Now or Start Later? Choosing a TravelPass Start Mode compares the choices. Do not choose an immediate start for a future holiday unless you want the access clock to begin now. A pass runs continuously after it starts rather than counting only connected hours.

Prepare the device before departure

Create your ALightVPN account, check signup and payment availability and install the supported client while you have a familiar connection. Confirm that the package matches your operating system and processor. A last-minute hotel Wi-Fi problem is easier to solve when the software is already installed.

A VPN Checklist for Hotels, Airports and Cafés covers unfamiliar networks. For employer-owned systems, verify the organization's access policy before installing a personal VPN.

Know how the trip ends

TravelPass does not automatically buy another pass. When its access expires, the product stops new profile creation/download and initiates revocation of issued profiles through the backend. An existing connection may take a short while to drop during processing.

After Your Pass Expires: Profiles, Access and Your Next Trip explains expiry and the next-trip workflow. A pass ending is not the same event as deleting your account. Review your status before purchasing another pass rather than expecting periods to stack.
